Aquathlons #2 & #3
With October having 5 Fridays, we have back-to-back aquathlon weeks coming up, so make sure you have both in your diary.
With our return to Hornsby comes a greater need to have a few marshals out on the run course.
If everyone volunteers just once or twice during the season then that will easily cover our needs.
You can let me know ahead of time or just let me know on the Friday night.
I recommend also bringing your gear with you in case we have more volunteers than required, we don't want anyone to miss out on having a swim and run.
This Friday (October 31st) a couple of us are heading out after the aquathlon for a casual meal and drink or two.
We'll either head across the road to Bambinos for pizza/pasta or down the road to the RSL (unless people are particularly keen on a third option).
Either way it will be family friendly and anyone is welcome to come along.
Finally, don't forget to post your training sessions on the forum if you'd like some company.
Training's always easier with some good company (fact!).
Aquathlons return to Hornsby
Daylight saving is here, which means HTC Aquathlons are back!
With the new pool finally open we are moving back home to where it all began.
The first aquathlon of the season will be Friday 17th October and then we'll be on every 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday of the month until the end of March.
With the new pool driveway and the MTB-related traffic down Quarry Rd significantly affecting our old course we have a new 4km run course which heads north towards Hookham's Corner at Galston Rd.
There will be a variety of distances available for the kids too, following the TA Participation Policy, with no road crossings and most staying within Hornsby Park.
Please enter the pool via reception where you will need to pay pool entry to get in (currently $7 for adults and $5 for children).
Meet on the grass area at the northern end of the outdoor 50m pool by 6pm so we can be ready to hit the water by 6:15pm (we need to be done by 6:45 before swim club gets going).
As per last season, according to TriNSW/TA policy, non-members may do up to three club-run sessions before they have to join the club, TriNSW and TA.
For those who haven't joined the club yet this season, it is done via the TA site (http://www.triathlon.org.au/Membership/Annual_Membership.htm, don't forget to select Hornsby when you get to the club part).
Contact Adrian if you have any questions as you go through the process.
We look forward to seeing you all back at Hornsby Pool.
Check out the weekly training schedule and the forum for details of sessions club members are doing.
