| Rain and a bit of wind greeted us for the first Friday Night Biathlon of Summer 07/08.
That didn't stop a good field of 14 (8 guys, 6 girls) turning up to race though.
In the water it was our youngest member (by far at just 10 years of age) Jeff Featherston who was the only competitor to crack 8 minutes with a 7:57.
Andrew Stone, in his last hitout before travelling to Florida for 70.3 World Champs was next in 8:10 with Steve H 3rd in 8:20.
On the road it was the usual story of watch the runners chase down the swimmers.
One of our newest members Nathan cracked 16 minutes for the run, scorching the course in 15:35.
But that wasn't quite enough to make up the head start he had given Steve and Andrew out of the water.
Sarah was the quickest of the ladies in both legs by a fair bit giving her the females win in 27:26.
Series Results: Being the first race of the series everyone scored 5 points and had 1% added to their time to calculate their new Handicap Time.
Well done to everyone but especially our first timers Carolyn, Nathan, Kerryn and Dan, and also to Frances who completed her first Biathlon for a while.
Thanks to all the volunteers for helping out with timing, marshalling and keeping everyone safe out on the run course. Here are the results.
