The last round of the summer series saw 10 competitors, 6 female and 4 male. Good commitment ladies!
Andrew Stone became the second member to win twice. He won two out of the last three events of the series, which were the only two he raced in.
Well done Stoney and good luck at Port Macquarie.
Rebecca Wilson's first appearance since late November saw her blitz the women's field by over 2 and a half minutes, smashing all the boys as well with her 7:30 swim split.
She was just 34 seconds outside her female course record, which isn't bad for someone supposedly on the return from injury.
There were only two PBs recorded - well done to Tony Nicklin and Cath Hume - but 7 out of the 8 other competitors were within 1 minute of their series PB.
Well done to everyone.
Despite Adrian having already wrapped up the series points score there was still plenty of competition for the minor placings.
Peter Giddins and Cath Hume (with her 5th PB from 6 starts this season) both leap-frogged their way into the top 5.
Cath secured the highest female finish (23pts) ahead of Lisa and Gracinda (21pts).
Adrian's final tally was 33 pts, 4 points clear of Tony (29) with Andrew J a further 2 back (27).
The full points score is here.
Well done to all the competitors.
Thank you to all the volunteers especially Claire who turned up every week to timekeep and also arranged all the refreshments.
See you at the Winter Biathlons if you can make it and if not we'll see you in October/November for the next Friday Night Summer series.
