January 2010
January is now done and dusted, and it was chock-a-block full of events. Following on from Round 6 of the Summer Aquathlon Series, a Bunnings BBQ plus races at Hills and Kurnell all on the one weekend. The month was rounded out with the National Olympic Distance Champs in Canberra, Round 8 of the State Junior Series and the Australia Day Aquathon in the 'Gong.

Emiel bettered his Canberra time from last year by 5 minutes and Laurel tackled the Illawarra Aquathon. The Bunnings BBQ was another great success with the club making a profit of over $700. Thanks to everyone that helped out on the day. Round 6 of the Summer Aquathlon Series saw Sam take his second win of the season and Dane and Michael build a bit of a lead at the top of the points table. We also had plenty of members racing at Hills 3 and Kurnell 2 too.

TA Challenge Series Cancelled
Triathlon Australia has cancelled the 2009-10 Challenge Series. This has resulted in four of the five weekends being cancelled - Geelong, Hobart, Sydney (Cronulla) & Adelaide. The Canberra weekend will now be run as a stand alone event conducted by Triathlon ACT. See the Triathlon Australia website for World Championship Qualification replacement races.
